The final stage of the All-Russian swimming competition Mad Wave Challenge was held from November 2 to 4 in the Burevestnik swimming pool of the Volga Region University.

For the first time in the ten-year history of the competition, athletes of all age groups took part. Among the adult swimmers were current members of the Russian national team - Svetlana Chimrova, Daria S. Ustinova, Arina Surkova, Kirill Prigoda, Alexander Shchegolev, Alexander Egorov.

The award ceremony for the winners was held with the participation of the first vice-president of the Russian Water Sports Federation, four-time Olympic champion Vladimir Salnikov.

"I am glad that we, adult athletes, were invited to participate in this tournament: the organization and prizes are wonderful. I hope that I will be able to participate more than once. Such starts are important for young athletes - this is an opportunity to test their strength and get inspired for new achievements. “I can’t help but remember myself as a little girl – I took part in children’s competitions in the Burevestnik swimming pool and was often at training camps before the Russian championships,” shared Arina Surkova, a participant in the Olympic Games and a master’s student at the Volga Region University.
