Issues related to the development of co-operation between sports universities of Tatarstan and Uzbekistan were discussed today at the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. Within the framework of the visit to Tatarstan, the delegation of Uzbekistan - director of the Nukus branch of the Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports Bairambai Yerimbetov and his deputy Islambek Mambetnazarov - visited the university today.

These days, the delegation of heads of higher education institutions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan is in the Republic of Tatarstan.  

The details of co-operation were discussed during the meeting with the delegation of Azat Sharapov, acting rector, first vice-rector of Povolzhsky University. The meeting was attended by Andrey Nazarenko, Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities of Volga Region University, and Guzalya Garayeva, Head of the International Cooperation Department.

The Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of Povolzhsky University also familiarised the guests with the material and technical base of the teaching and laboratory building and told them about the opportunities of the sports university of Tatarstan.

In particular, the colleagues from Uzbekistan were shown teaching, training, scientific and sports halls. The guests visited the Universiade Museum, the Information Resource Centre, and got acquainted with digital technologies of the sports university.

Special attention was paid to the Research Institute - they visited the laboratories of sports statistics and analytics; sports nutritionology and anthropology; sports physiology; sports genetics and molecular physiology; comprehensive monitoring of sports facilities, equipment, outfit and materials; psychophysiology of sports; biomechanics of sports.

It should be reminded that the sports universities of Tatarstan and Uzbekistan signed a cooperation agreement, which provides for the exchange of experience, scientific and methodological information, as well as joint scientific, methodological and practical conferences, seminars and forums. The development and publication of joint scientific, educational and methodological works is also included in the joint plans of sports universities.
