Today, the Volga Region University of Sports opened an advanced training course on the program “Preventing doping in sports and combating it in regional sports federations.”
On behalf of the university, the course participants were greeted by Doctor of Economic Sciences, Rector of the University Rafis Burganov. He noted that the issues discussed are very relevant today.
“Our university is actively working not only in terms of prohibiting the use of doping, but we are now also conducting extensive research and development on the effect of doping on the human body - an athlete,” said Rafis Burganov.
The head of the department for work with Olympic councils and academies of the Organizational Directorate of the Russian Olympic Committee, Natalya Pryanikova, in turn, said that the Russian Olympic Committee is doing a lot of work together with RUSADA in terms of Olympic education.
“The Olympic education project involves the development of regional Olympic academies, sports universities, regional Olympic councils and regional Olympic federations,” added Natalya Pryanikova, indicating that this course will be continued in 2024. According to her, this course will be held in 14 more sports universities of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and pedagogical universities.
50 regional anti-doping specialists working in Olympic sports federations attended the course at the Volga Region University of Sports.
Leading RUSADA experts give lectures. Lectures and practical classes are devoted to current issues, in particular, the rights and responsibilities of athletes and athlete personnel in terms of anti-doping support, liability for violating anti-doping rules, the doping control procedure, etc.
