Representatives of the Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism became winners of the Official Republican Acrobatic Rock'n'Roll Tournament. The tournament was held last weekend in the Miras Sports Complex in Kazan.
The university students represented the university in two disciplines - B-Mixed Men and Women, as well as Women's Formation. The girls of the Step UP team climbed to the top step of the podium. In their turn, Regina Damadaeva and Dmitry Togulev placed sixth, and Lyudmila Moiseyeva and Bulat Sharafutdinov placed seventh.
According to Irina Kucherova, coach of the Volga Region women's national team, it was the first start of the year. "At this tournament it was important to understand where we are at the moment and what we need to work on next," Irina Kucherova said. - We made our previous program a little bit more complicated and now we are working on it. We are preparing for several competitions, first one is All-Russian, it will be held in St. Petersburg at the end of February. There is not much time left, so we use such competitions as an intermediate stage in our preparation. By the way, our boys in pairs also looked very good considering the level of their rivals. They showed good results.
