The final match of the Student Football League of the Republic of Tatarstan took place yesterday at Burevestnik Stadium. The team from the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism faced the team from the Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and won 2-0.
The heroes of the final were Rayat Sharafutdinov, who opened the scoring in the 48th minute, and Vadim Malikov cemented the lead in the 63rd minute of the second half.
Midfielder Rayat Sharafutdinov described the attack and shared his emotions about the victory:
"We executed the move well, put Adel Gainullin in a good position, and he found me with a pass. I saw an opportunity to shoot and took advantage of it. A goal is always a positive experience, and scoring one in the final is doubly rewarding."
Preparation for the match was as usual. The coach didn't give any specific instructions, just motivational words: we have a huge responsibility today, we must win. We knew that if the team had made it to the final, we couldn't underestimate them, so we prepared ourselves with the utmost seriousness and went into the match with full concentration. The group stage and the final are completely different.
The support was palpable: faculty members, students, and the university's rector, Rafis Burganov, came to support the team. It was a pleasure to participate in this match.
We have the National Student Football League tours ahead of us. We always set the highest goals for ourselves, and we will prepare hard and strive to win every match.
It's worth noting that the team from Povolzhsky had already beaten KSUACE with the same 2-0 score in the group stage of the season. The final match confirmed the team's tactical superiority and high level of discipline.
