A meeting of the Republican Organising Committee for the preparation and staging of the International Multisport Tournament "Games of the Future" in 2024 in Kazan took place today at the RT Government House. The meeting was chaired by Rustam Minnikhanov, Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, took part in the session via videoconferencing.

First Deputy Minister of Sport of Russia Azat Kadyrov, Director General of the World Future Games Igor Yurevich Stolyarov and Director General of the Agency for the Development of Computer and Other Sports Anton Kara delivered reports.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the Games of the Future is an innovative project that combines digital technology and physical activity. He expressed his gratitude for the trust and opportunity to host the Games in Tatarstan to the leadership of the country. "Our republic is ready to host the Games of the Future, hold all events at a high organisational level and fulfil all obligations," said Rustam Minnikhanov.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the RF Government, stressed that Tatarstan is one of the most experienced subjects of the federation in terms of organising and staging events, including international events. According to Dmitry Chernyshenko, Tatarstan demonstrates the highest level of readiness to organise and use technology; all the necessary infrastructure is in place. He also reminded that he had visited test events of the Games of the Future in Kazan together with Rustam Minnikhanov (in autumn 2022, during his working trip to Kazan). "At that time, the tournament's technology was tested," he recalled. - The coverage of the test events was impressive; everything was very decent.

Azat Kadyrov, First Deputy Minister of Sport of Russia, said that work on holding such competitions has been carried out since 2001 and they have been integrated with traditional sports. Today the work is underway to improve the rules and accredit regional federations.

Rustam Minnikhanov said during the Organising Committee meeting that a number of inspections have taken place in Kazan. As of today we've had five such audits," he said. - Based on their results we received suggestions and comments from the Agency and we are working on them. We are conducting systematic work to prepare for the Games. The republic has all the necessary resources for this.

The Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan also stressed that the Sports Ministry of the Republic of Tatarstan is in close cooperation with the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation.

It is planned that the first Future Games will be held in Kazan in March 2024 in 16 disciplines. Kazan won the right to host the event among decent candidates (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Kaluga and the Sirius Federal Territory). The winning bid from Tatarstan was announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on June 17, 2022.

A trilateral Agreement on Organising and staging the Games of the Future between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Agency for the Development of Computer Sports and the Directorate of Sports and Social Projects was signed on September 20, 2022.

The Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on staging the International Multisport Event "Games of the Future" in Kazan in 2024 is signed on December 19, 2022.
