On the previous day the Volga Region University's "pedagogical mission" landed in secondary school No.18 of the Vakhitovsky district of Kazan.

Teachers and staff members of the Sports and Tourism University told the final year pupils about the university's secondary vocational education and Bachelor's degree programmes. The University offers almost forty programmes in sports, physical education, adaptive physical education, teacher training, tourism, hotel management, hotel service and many others.

Teachers of the department of service and tourism and department of economics and management in sport told about advantages of studying at the university, about peculiarities of admission, unique opportunities for students to acquire practical professional skills, as well as - about rich social life of students.

"Boys and girls, I recommend you to attend the Open Day at the University of Sport and Tourism to see with your own eyes the scale and standard of the university", said the school's director Rina Badrieva. - Now comes another important stage on the way to passing the Unified State Examination and successfully passing the final state certification, which will allow you to enter the university.

"Recently the problem of high school students making a conscious choice of their future profession has become even more important," said Yulia Zubkova, associate professor of Economics and Management in Sport, head of the University Information and Resource Centre. - Today we and our colleagues told the pupils about the main directions of our university for their professional self-determination and future career planning. An informed professional choice is not an easy task, requiring an independent decision by a person who is aware of the responsibility in planning his or her future career. During the career choice process, young people are in particular need of professional help. We are always happy to tell them about the possibilities and prospects of studying at our university.

"Today's meeting was held in a warm and trusting atmosphere", said Yulia Ibatullova, associate professor of the Department of Service and Tourism. - It is very important to inform students about the directions and rules of admission by personal communication with them, answering their questions and providing them with more information when they choose their professional development. The hospitality, service and tourism sectors are currently in high demand in our country, with the government supporting the industry.

Finally, the pupils were invited to the Open Day, which will take place at the University on 5 February.
