In Krasnogorsk (Moscow region), the fifth round of the Russian Cup ended the year 2022. The country's strongest skiers competed in three disciplines: free and classic style sprints, and classic 10 and 15 km 'split'.

Denis Filimonov, a graduate of Volga Region State University of Sport, won the bronze medal in the sprint freestyle final. The athlete came through in the qualifying heat with a trendy result and was very confident of the final sprint.
On the first competition day another graduate, Khristina Matsokina, came in fifth in classic sprint and seventh in freestyle sprint.
The Masters graduate Sergei Ardashev twice made it into the top 10, first finishing seventh in the classic sprint and then eighth in the individual classic race.
