Blood plasma donors at Rosplasma were volunteers from Volga Region University together with the Liga Volunteer Centre for Development of Volunteer Competences. In just one month the donated substance could save several dozens of lives and become hope for their relatives and friends.
"Before, none of us had any experience in donation. At the Centre, we learned a lot about the importance of donation, how and to whom a donor saves lives," says Evgeniy Kalaev, a master's student at the university. - We had a medical examination, received approval to donate, and then went to donate plasma.
The donation process itself was quite comfortable. "The nurses connected the guys to a special machine that monitored blood quality and took the plasma. During this time it was possible to combine business with pleasure - watch your favourite TV series or listen to music. And after about 30 minutes, we were already resting in a special room with a cup of tea," said Eugene.
Mankind has learned to create artificial intelligence, started to conquer outer space, but has not been able to artificially create blood to keep adults and children alive. This is why donation is of particular importance.
