Last weekend, the long-awaited meeting of former world boxing champion Denis Lebedev with students of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism, very young athletes as well as members of the national boxing team of Tatarstan, was held at the Aquatics Palace.
Denis Lebedev is a professional Russian heavyweight boxer. Also he is the WBA and IBF world champion. Not once boxer stepped into the ring against talented opponents and gained the upper hand, for which his name is firmly entrenched in boxing history.
The novice boxers were looking forward to meeting their idol, at which the legendary boxer shared his experiences about his attitude to boxing, his training, his human relations and his love of his homeland.
The champion himself was impressed by the meeting, saying that such meetings are a starting point for the development of sports, including boxing.
