The Digital Innopolis Days 2022 forum on digital transformation in education, business and public administration opened today in Innopolis. The plenary session of the forum was chaired by Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia. The main theme of the plenary session was "Integration of Education, Science, and Industry: an Impulse for the Development of Human Resources and Research Potential in Russia".
Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, Darya Kiryanova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Maxim Parshin, Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of Russia, Eduard Sheremetcev, Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia participated in the event. Digital Innopolis Days - DID is a forum about digital transformation in education, business and government. At the forum, the rectors and vice-rectors of Russia's leading universities share their experiences and talk to the world's leading speakers in the field of artificial intelligence and digital universities. The Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism was represented by Rafis Burganov, Rector, and Adelia Pavlova, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Digital Transformation of the university.
DID participants get acquainted with new educational formats and products of innovative thinking. Addressing the plenary session, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that one of the key topics of this forum is the digital transformation of Russia's regions. "Tatarstan, as a leader in terms of digital transformation, is ready to share its experience," he said. The training of qualified personnel is impossible without taking into account the needs of companies, said the President of Tatarstan. Such an approach was initiated as part of the federal project Workforce for the Digital Economy which proved to be effective.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that all of this was the basis for the creation of the Advanced Engineering School of Innopolis University as part of a large-scale federal programme. He said that government support programmes contribute greatly to the development of the country's talent pool. Speaking at the forum, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said that at the moment Russia needs highly qualified personnel with digital skills to conduct effective import substitution. The government has already launched work to consolidate customers of scientific products. Approved 216 projects, which will require more than 200,000 new specialists to create, develop and use.
"A one-stop-shop for education and technology transfer will be the backbone education centre at Innopolis University. Since it began operating, more than 34,000 teachers have completed their training and received their certificates. At present, we are reconfiguring the centre to meet import substitution goals. The primary task will be to train employees in the field to ensure the smooth transition of industries from foreign to Russian software. Educational programmes will be updated, tools for assessing employees' competence and matrices for their professional development will be created," said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
An exhibition of scientific and educational achievements of Innopolis University and technological projects of 18 industrial partners, including Kaspersky Lab, YaClass, Glonass, Enlightenment, GlobalLab, iSpring, CDO Global, was also organised at the forum. Before the start of the plenary session, Dmitry Chernyshenko and Rustam Minnikhanov toured the exhibition and visited the stand of the Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence at Innopolis University, as well as ICEL Techno LLC, which produces computing equipment, notebooks, tablets.
