Everyone has got used to the fact that some of the best athletes study at our university, that university students win various competitions and bring victories. But today we're talking about a student who wasn't afraid to take part not only in a sports show, but also in an intellectual show on TV.

A new sports and intellectual show, Challenge, has been launched on TNT. Superstars from our show business, paired up with intellectuals from our country and competed together for the main prize. The show featured Zarina Shafigullina, a student of Povolzhsky University, FIDE Women's Chess Master and CMC. After the show, she shared her emotions with us:

- How did you find out about the project and why did you decide to take part in it?

- An acquaintance of mine wrote to me and suggested I take part in an intellectual sports show on TNT. I was scared at first, but then I thought about it and decided. There's a phrase, "When I'm afraid of something, I challenge it. To live in fear is just silly".

- How did you get selected for the show?

- I was contacted, I wrote down my chess regalia, I passed the interview and here I am on the project.

- What were your first emotions when you found out that you were selected?

- I was insanely happy - it's TNT, it's television after all. It was even more interesting to talk to the "stars".

- On the show you were paired with Evgeny Ershov. Tell us what it was like to work with him?

- Very unusual, bright personality. He can be emotional, but, as practice has shown, he can gather himself, and support, and inspire confidence.

- Who did you want to be with from the very beginning?

- I really wanted to be paired with Tornike Kvitatiani and, as far as I know, he also wanted to be on the team with me. In general, when we arrived at the base, Tornike was already preparing, running.

- What test, in your opinion, was the most difficult?

- In the first and second editions, the main tests were the most difficult, requiring enormous physical exertion. After my second release in the crash test, my back gave out.

- What do you remember the most?

- Each test was memorable. It's like a bright surge of emotions and adrenaline. I also remember how we sat by the fire in the evenings, sang songs, talked a lot and played games. It was atmospheric.

- What was the atmosphere inside the team, did the opponents support you or did you still feel the atmosphere of struggle?

- At first we laughed a lot, it was obvious who to vote for, let's say - everything went easily, "on light". But then, a serious struggle began, coalitions began to gather, someone persuaded someone. But, in any case, there was support, because everyone who goes through these tests knows how difficult it is. There was definitely a certain unity.

- What did you end up getting from the show?

- First of all, I got experience from the show. Not only in filming, but also in interacting with people, in defending their point of view. The show also opened and still opens new opportunities in life for me.

- Would you like to take part in the show again?

Yes, yes, and yes again! It's cool, interesting, sometimes scary. During the day you can experience 1000 different emotions. People don't get as many emotions over the years as we did during our time on the show.
