The team of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism became the champions of the Republic of Tatarstan in acrobatic rock and roll. The competitions were held last weekend at the Tulpar sports complex.
The performance of the women's team "Step up" in the formation discipline was victorious. In the "B-class mixed men and women", the second and third places were shared by university students Bulat Sharafutdinov paired with Lyudmila Moiseeva, Dmitry Togulev paired with Regina Damadaeva.
The competitions became the qualifying stage for participation in the championship and the championship of the Volga Federal District, which will be held on October 16 in Kirov.
"The Championship of the Republic of Tatarstan is a mandatory start before the regional tournament and the championship of Russia, that is, you need to qualify to get the right to perform at these two starts. Therefore, for us, the performance at the republican tournament is of particular importance," says team leader Irina Kucherova. - This year we have updated the composition of the formation team and each performance is another opportunity for us to test not only the team, but also the program. We will continue to work and prepare for the upcoming tournaments."
