Russian summer championship in cross-country skiing finished in Tyumen. The competition program included free style races for 15 and 20 km, classic sprints and cross-country skiing for 5 and 8 km on a rough terrain.

The Volga sports university graduates showed good results, which indicates productive training work in summer and promising brilliant performances in winter.

On the first day of competition in classic sprint Sergei Ardashev was third, Denis Filimonov was fifth and Andrey Lar'kov closed the top 10. Julia Stupak, the leader of the Russian national women's team and a winner of the Olympic Games in Beijing, became the best among the girls. Polina Lobastova was 10th.

The women's 15 and men's 20 km freestyle races were the next events in the program. Polina Lobastova finished in the second ten with the 17th result. Andrey Lar'kov won the silver medal, 0.01 ahead of the bronze medalist. Sergey Ardashev took the sixth bouquet at the flower ceremony and +01.05 min at the finish line from the leader.
