Denis Lokhmatov, a fourth-year student of the Student Media Center, always encouraged us with his vivid video reports from the basketball games of the Volga Region University, but this time he went out in the field himself and won a trip to the SBA 3x3 Super Final.
In early September the qualifiers for the SBA 3x3 Super Final were held in Kazan, where Denis and his teammates Danila Buzilov, Mikhail Novopashin and Alexey Kuzmin (all KNITU students) got the grand prize.
- The weather accompanied, although it was cloudy. The opponents were worthy, and the matches were equal, but everything was decided in the last game, where we were better and played as a team, because we played together more than once this summer, - recalls the athlete.
The Super Final will be held from October 1 to 2 in Moscow. According to the SBA executive director Sergey Kryukov, the tournament will be held in an open format - teams from Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, LNR, DNR and Abkhazia will take part in it.
- I think it's not necessary to think ahead about our results, we should sort out our opponent and play our game and show our level of Kazan, after all, we won the qualifiers for a reason," commented Denis Lokhmatov.
It is noteworthy that the venue of the finals will be the Dynamo Volleyball Arena. After all, one of the competitive advantages of the 3x3 basketball is its versatility and entertainment value that allows holding various events in different places and venues: shopping malls, art spaces, theaters, and everywhere in between.
