We continue to follow the success of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism team at the VIII All-Russian Summer Universiade.
The victory in the team competition was brought by the badminton University sports team. The team consisted of Pavel Monich, Dmitry Panarin, Amir Hamidulin, Regina Galiakhmetova, Anastasia Redkina, Alina Romanko. 16 teams of Russian universities took part in the tournament, which was held in Ulyanovsk.
Athletes of the Department of Theory and Methodology of martial Arts also brought points to the piggy bank of the team standings of the VIII All-Russian Summer Universiade, becoming winners and prize-winners in several disciplines in boxing, judo, sambo and taekwondo (VTF).
About everything in order. So, Ulyanovsk hosted boxing competitions from July 5 to 8, where Iskander Karazhanov fulfilled the standard of the master of sports, becoming the winner in the weight category up to 80 kg, Valeria Aktuganova (weight class up to 48 kg) and Anna Galimova (weight class up to 81 kg) took the "silver" of the tournament, "bronze" Vadim Koshkin (in / to 63.5 kg) and Danila Nikiforov (in / to 54 kg).
At the same time, from July 7 to July 8, sambo wrestlers of the Volga University performed in Grozny. So, Evgenia Startseva (in / to 65 kg) and Kirill Marianov (in / to 98kg +) ascended to the second step of the podium, Kirill Bazhin (in / to 71 kg) took the third place.
Taekwondo athletes continued the "medal" relay. The competitions were also held in Ulyanovsk from July 8 to July 9. The university's taekwondo team (VTF) has three medals: gold by Anastasia Baklanova (up to 67 kg), silver by Yulia Kazryatova (up to 49 kg) and bronze by Daniil Alekseev (up to 68 kg).
Judoists also did not stand aside – they brought the coveted one silver and one bronze.
The women's volleyball team has completed its performance at the Universiade in Salavat. According to the results of match meetings, the athletes took 7th place. Personal awards were awarded to Alina Minullina – "The best player in the team", and Milina Rakhmatullina – "The best libero of the tournament".
