Inspiring and motivating are the main goals of young and promising athletes, to show that you should never stop at what you have achieved, but only go forward to new achievements. Such views turned out to be Matin Sharopov, a professional TopDog fighter, a third–year student of boxing specialization at the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism.
– What is TopDog?
– TopGog is a professional fist fighting league that is actively developing in Russia and CIS countries. I chose TopDog because there is an opportunity to show myself as an athlete. There is little circus in it, as in other leagues.
– Why do you think there are a lot of shows in other leagues?
– Due to the fact that TopDog is one of the youngest leagues, its creators want to attract viewers, fans with their fighters, their professionalism, and not how they know how to insult each other at conferences and throw loud statements.
– Have you already tried yourself as a professional boxer and as a TopDog fighter, where is it more painful?
– For two fights in fist fights, I missed three or four times, so we can conclude where it hurts more. Due to the fact that people come to the "fist" not only from boxing, but also from other types of martial arts, then everyone has a different technique, tailored to their type of martial arts, and you can dodge well somewhere and not get it.
– Are you reviewing your fights? What are the feelings?
– Yes, of course. I am pleased with myself. When I went out for the first time, I was a little worried, but then I relaxed and enjoyed it.
– One of your rivals, who is 11 years older, owned the MMA technique. It's closer to fist fights. The commentators were skeptical of you because of this. Was it hard to fight with him?
– It wasn't hard with him. I would say that he underestimated me, since he is taller and heavier than me.
– And the last, most popular, what is the strength?
– In a good temper.
