The Water Sports Palace was commissioned in 2013. This unique facility is located on the picturesque bank of the Kazanka River, in the south-eastern part of the Novo-Savinovsky District. The Water Sports Palace is one of the largest indoor sports facilities in Russia. It was designed by the British company Arup Group Limited, known for the project of the Sydney Opera House. Such large-scale events as the World Aquatics Championships-2015, the World Diving Series-2015, the Russian Swimming Championships-2015, the Russian Beach Rugby Cup-2016, the World Diving Championship-2016, the Russian 25m Swimming Championship-2016, the Russian Beach Volleyball Cup-2017, the Swimming World Cup-2018 and others were held here.
The palace can accommodate 4,200 spectators, the total area of the building is 44 thousand square metres. Under the roof of the structure there are four swimming pools, a diving area, a hotel for accommodation of athletes and a canteen, as well as a fitness centre, an aerobics hall, a gym and a conference hall. There are group and individual classes in synchronised swimming, diving, aquaplane diving and fitness, as well as training in wushu and boxing, water polo and dance.
