Athletes from 23 countries will take part in the international competitions "Friendship Games". This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

They will be held from 10 to 25 November at one of the facilities of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism - in the Palace of Aquatic Sports with the support of the Ministry of Sports of Russia, the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan, the All-Russian Swimming Federation, the Synchronized Swimming Federation of Russia and the Russian Diving Federation . The palace has hosted major FINA tournaments including the 2015 World Championships, World Cups and World Series events.

“On behalf of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, we maintain the level of competitive activity of our athletes. The government has developed new formats for competitions in various sports with the participation of representatives of friendly countries. In November, Kazan is scheduled to host the second stage of the Friendship Games international competition. I would like to note that in comparison with the first stage, which took place in July-August this year, the geography of participants has expanded from 16 to 23 countries. Over 100 sets of awards will be raffled among 800 athletes. I am sure that hospitable Tatarstan will be able to please athletes, coaches and fans with a worthy level of holding the Games,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

"The Friendship Games are designed to bring athletes together and underline our commitment to fair sport. We are always in favour of international consolidation in sport and will continue to organise competitions of this format, as we see an increased interest from athletes from other countries. The first stage of the Games was a success and brought together over 1,000 athletes from different countries. I am sure that the second stage will be just as spectacular: sports fans will be able to watch performances of Russia's strongest swimmers and divers and enjoy the competition atmosphere. And Kazan will once again confirm its status as a hospitable sports centre of our country," said Oleg Matytsin, Minister of Sports of Russia.

The second stage will include the international Tatarstan President's Cup diving competition (November 10-13), as well as the Russian championship and international swimming competition (November 20-25).

The Friendship Games are an international swimming, synchronised swimming and diving competition held in Kazan from July through December 2022. The first stage of the Friendship Games took place from July 19 to August 3. A total of 984 athletes from 16 countries took part in the event.
