The Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism was visited by leading athletes of the Chistopol municipal district - pupils of the Batyr wrestling school. The athletes came under the guidance of Radik Kamalov, the best armwrestling coach of Russia in 2023.
Danir Islyamov, executive secretary of the university's admissions committee, familiarised the guests with the opportunities of Tatarstan's sports university. The athletes visited educational, cultural and sports halls, the Universiade Museum, as well as the information and resource centre. The guests were most interested in the capabilities of the university's Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. Athletes were examined at the university's research institute to create a model characteristic of an armwrestler.
Danir Islyamov said that within the framework of the agreement signed earlier with the Russian Armwrestling Federation, the university is now working on the development of a scientific school of armwrestling.
‘Within the framework of the agreement signed last spring between the university and the Russian Armwrestling Federation, the parties joined efforts in several directions: scientific-methodological, medical-biological, anti-doping, material-technological and information-technological. Interaction in the system of personnel training is also a priority direction. This sport is practically unexplored today. Therefore, attracting talented guys and development of armwrestling is even a necessary measure", - noted the executive secretary of the University Admissions Committee.
