Ekaterina Platoshkina, a postgraduate student of the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, won the national contest “Best Young Scientist - 2024”. She became the best postgraduate student in the field of socio-humanitarian sciences.
The competition is held annually by the regional public movement of young scientists and specialists of the Republic of Tatarstan. This year young scientists sent 188 applications to the absentee stage, and only 35 participants passed to the in-person stage. The experts of the competition determined the three best scientists in each of the seven nominations - all winners received a cash prize for the development of science.
Ekaterina Platoshkina submitted the project “Being a cool athlete is a part of life, not the whole life”, which aims to support athletes who have finished their sports career and need qualified assistance in adaptation and socialization in modern society. She proposed a program of diagnostics and correction of the psycho-emotional state of athletes.
The postgraduate student of Povolzhsky noted that the choice of the topic is connected with personal experience and communication with athletes and coaches of different ages. Also the topic is relevant within the framework of the priority direction of scientific and technological development of the country.
- I participated in the competition last year as well, but only made it to the top five finalists. The experience gained allowed me to strengthen my new work, pay attention to important aspects of preparation and presentation, which eventually brought a decent result this year. I plan to continue my research as part of my dissertation work. Writing research articles and speaking at conferences, will help to deepen my knowledge, acquire practical skills and broaden my horizons. I plan to spend the prize money on the development of my research,” Ekaterina Platoshkina said.
