Before the conference, athletes from the Volga Region University who demonstrated high results in gymnastics and dance sports at the BRICS Games, as well as judges and organizers, were awarded. The exchange of scientific and practical experience began with the plenary session, where the members of the Presidium were Rafis Burganov, Head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Gymnastics Lyubov Botova and Director of the Gymnastics Centre Natalia Alkaeva.
‘Identifying the best performance in sport is a hot topic. Specialists are often faced with the need to use a more accurate evaluation system, especially in sports that are characterised by a subjective system. A champion may not have a model performance of a programme. This hinders the development of the sport and lowers its social prestige. Therefore, we aim to create a matrix of the most objective evaluation of performances in gymnastics, which will allow us to identify the most worthy results,’ shared Olga Kapranova, Vice-President of the Russian Gymnastics Federation.
Then, sectional sessions were held, at which teachers and students of the Volga Region University spoke and talked about the results of the research conducted.
"At the plenary session, the participants touched upon many diverse topics, covered sports, training and health activities. We also managed to emphasize the social significance of gymnastics and its importance in the intellectual development of children. It was especially pleasant to hear the reports of graduates and students of the Volga Region University. I believe that the conference was fruitful - the participants considered many relevant ideas and projects, which allowed them to strengthen contacts and find new colleagues," said Lyubov Botova.
