The testing centre of the All-Russian physical culture and sports complex "Ready for Labour and Defence" of Volga Region University together with the Centre for Patriotic Education of Youth "Warrior" held a tournament on military-applied sports among juniors.
Participation in the competitions, which took place within the framework of popularisation of the All-University Sports Club "Ready for Labour and Defence", was attended by 100 college students of the Volga Region University in the fields of Physical Education, Adaptive Physical Education, Tourism and Hospitality, as well as Waiter and Bartender.
The programme of the competitions, which took place in the University's Training and Laboratory Complex, included: first aid, long jump from a place with a two-legged push, forward bend from a standing position on a gymnastic bench, bending and extending arms in a lying position on the floor, incomplete disassembly of a Kalashnikov AK-74 assault rifle with subsequent assembly, loading a magazine with cartridges, as well as putting on a gas mask.
After the main programme of the tournament, the employees of the "Voin" Centre completed the standards of the All-Union Sports and Fitness Centre "GTO".
