Fifteen athletes representing the Serbian national swimming team were examined at the Rowing Sports Center at the Medical Unit of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. This was the team's second visit to Kazan.
Under the supervision of the Medical Unit staff, the swimmers underwent a series of tests: blood tests, including those for muscle fatigue markers, a bicycle ergometer test to determine maximum oxygen consumption, body composition analysis using bioimpedance analysis, and a "wingate" test to measure speed and strength.
"The athletes' medical examinations were successful. The boys were tired after the flight, but we provided them with recovery measures. I hope they will perform well at the upcoming competitions," noted Gulnara Yanysheva, Head of the Medical Unit.
The Central City Veterinary Hospital's medical center boasts modern, high-tech equipment that allows for athlete examinations, including those at the international level. Every year, athletes from various countries and sports attend training camps and competitions to monitor their fitness and health under the guidance of professionals.
"We came to Kazan for the Russian Swimming Championships. We chose this medical center based on recommendations from athletes who had been here before. We've heard a lot of good reviews and want to show strong results at the upcoming European Aquatics Championships in Paris," said Dragan Jočić, President of the Serbian Swimming Federation and the team's escort.
