It has become a good tradition at Volga Region University to organize trade union weekends - health outings and weekend trips for employees and teachers of the university.

The trade union organization of the University of Sports is a member of the Trade Union of Education Workers of the Republic of Tatarstan. Members of the trade union organize activities for the recovery and rehabilitation of university employees, especially the elderly - they send them on vacation to sanatoriums and trips on motor ships.

For the last year members of the trade union of the University of Sports visited sanatoriums “Nehama”, “Livadia” and traveled on motor ships. In March, under the guidance of the chairman of the trade union committee of the university, executive secretary of the admission committee Danir Islyamov and associate professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics Aliya Garipova, 30 employees and teachers of the Volga Region University visited the sanatorium “Vasilievsky”.

- The mood, weather and organization of the departure were excellent. Clean rooms, friendly staff, sanatorium services and dietary meals all contributed to a good vacation. The trade union committee also tried to organize additional leisure time. Since we work in a sports university, the weekend could not pass without sports competitions. We brought with us to the sanatorium sets for playing darts and checkers. Excitement, passion, sports spirit, team unity, cheerful mood accompanied the sanatorium competitions. The enthusiastic feedback from the participants of the trip shows that such types of recreation are becoming more and more in demand, - shared Aliya Garipova.

Alik Salimov, former chairman of the trade union committee at Volga Region University, associate professor of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, noted the importance of the work of the trade union committee.

- The fact that our trade union organization exists is already great. In recent years, more and more employees and teachers of the university have joined our trade union committee - now we are about 250 people. Trade union is not only recreational and entertaining activities, but also protection of workers' rights: an employee can get advice in a difficult situation or resolve a work conflict. The bigger the union team, the more powerful it is, and participation in joint events unites the team,” emphasized Alik Salimov.
