"I have travelled to many universities - I have never seen anything like this before. You have a magnificent, informative university!". This is how Rector of the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture Fuad Hajiyev assessed the capabilities of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism today after visiting the university's training and laboratory building.
The previous day, the guests of Tatarstan were shown the university's sports facilities: Aquatics Palace, Gymnastics Centre, Burevestnik swimming pool, Tennis Academy, Badminton Centre, Rowing Centre, including the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports and Regata Hotel.
Today, Rector of Volga Region University Rafis Burganov and First Vice-Rector Azat Sharapov familiarised the guests with the capabilities of the teaching and laboratory building - they demonstrated digital and multimedia capabilities and showed the material and technical base.
In particular, the colleagues from Azerbaijan were shown educational, cultural, training, scientific and sports halls. The guests visited the catering area, the Universiade Museum, the information and resource centre, and got acquainted with the digital technologies of the sports university.
Special attention was paid to the university's automated management system, cybersports hall, as well as the Research Institute - they visited the laboratories of sports statistics and analytics; sports nutritionology and anthropology; sports physiology; sports genetics and molecular physiology; comprehensive monitoring of sports facilities, equipment, outfit and materials; psychophysiology of sports; biomechanics of sports.
"We will learn a lot from you - so many interesting things - good educational programme, great experience, especially in the training of coaches and medical and biological services for athletes," Fuad Hajiyev told the Azerbaijan State Academy of Physical Culture after visiting the Volga Region University.
