Thirty per cent of teachers of the Institute of Sports of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism are graduates of the university. Robert Bikmukhametov, Director of the Institute, told about it at a meeting with the Rector of the university Rafis Burganov. The meeting "without ties" was held on the eve of the day of the higher school teacher.

Rafis Burganov has started a new tradition - to hold warm meetings with the staff of institutes, where everyone can ask any question. The tradition will be continued - the meetings will be held twice a year.

During the meeting the Director of the Institute reminded how the traditions were laid down and thanked the veterans of the University sitting in the hall. He gratefully mentioned Professor Alexander Chernyaev, Associate Professor Leonid Lopatin, Professor Azat Akhatov, and sports veteran Leonid Savosin.

"They are the ones who make a great contribution to our formation and the formation of students as professionals. These traditions would not be preserved if they were not supported by the alumni of our university. Today they are in every department and make up more than 30 per cent of the teaching staff of the Institute of Sport. I myself am a graduate of 1983, and one of the young teachers of our department is a graduate of 2023", - said Robert Bikmukhametov.

The meeting is also an opportunity to get to know each other better, to tell what teachers do for a living. Each department presented its teams, some of them prepared questions for the rector.

"Our task is to create a mechanism for considering questions. We should do it together and only then make decisions. Everything is transparent - we try to be open as much as possible. Only in this way the work will be effective," Rafis Burganov emphasised.

On the eve of the holiday was not without awards. For a significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports and in connection with the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the formation of the state management body in the field of physical culture and sports, the rector of the university presented the gratitude of the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation to the Director of the Institute of Sport Robert Bikmukhametov, Head of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Skiing, Golf and Shooting Sports Rishat Galiev.
