Deputy Head of the Medical Unit of the Research Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the Volga Region University Rustam Yakubov is involved in the work of the medical service of the international multi-sport tournament “Future Games”, which is taking place these days in Kazan.
A university employee as part of the medical team takes part in accompanying the Games and provides medical assistance to tournament participants.
“Medical teams are on duty at all sports and training sites of the tournament. They consist of two doctors, one of them sports, nursing staff and a volunteer. Each team is provided with the necessary equipment, as well as medicines and dressings to provide emergency care,” said Rustam Yakubov.
According to him, most often tournament participants complain about sprains, bruises and exacerbation of chronic injuries.
In total, more than 500 medical workers are involved in medical support for the Games of the Future in Kazan. These are specialists from regional and federal medical organizations.
