Student and college teachers of the Volga Region University of Sport were awarded diplomas of UNESCO Associated Schools. They took part in all-Russian competitions of the network of schools.

Bulat Akhmedgaliev, a first-year student of the college, created a video in which he spoke in English about the sights of Kazan and his favourite places in the city. For his participation in the contest he was awarded a diploma of the III degree of the III All-Russian video contest The Best Guide.

Teachers Larisa Minina and Aidar Salikhov took part in the All-Russian competition "Just About Difficult Things" within the framework of the UNESCO Associated Schools Project. Both teachers took third place and were also awarded diplomas.

College Principal Alsu Zheltyakova noted that the college has applied to become a member of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network (UNESCO ASPnet).

"Participation in competitions is one of the steps of joining the network of schools. We also organise activities to improve education. Receiving an international certificate and being accepted into the network of UNESCO Associated Schools is a kind of a quality mark that we strive for," Alsu Zheltyakova added.

She also reminded that 12 thousand schools from 180 countries are currently participating in the project. This year UNESCO ASPnet celebrates its 70th anniversary.
