Students of the Volga Region University will develop socially significant projects aimed at developing the tourism sector of Tatarstan in 2025. The projects are the result of participation in the federal program "Service Learning".
Director of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism, head of the project office "Service Learning" Sergey Druzhkov said that in the 2025 academic year, students of areas related to hospitality and tourism will take an educational course, including lectures and a practical part.
- This semester, students will be developing tourism-oriented projects. Beforehand, we met with Sergey Ivanov, Chairman of the State Tourism Committee of Tatarstan, with whom we have been closely cooperating for a long time, and discussed what tasks will be set and how we will interact in project activities. I will not reveal all the secrets, I will only say that the topics of the developments are relevant and very interesting,” said Sergey Druzhkov.
As the program director explained, tasks have also been set in the Service Learning project office: it is necessary to complete and launch the most successful projects that were proposed by students earlier.
- All projects developed during the course are filtered and the most promising ones are submitted to the university's project office. There, with the involvement of project supervisors, students finalize their ideas and prepare them for launch. I hope that this semester we will be able to show a high result of our activity, - concluded Sergey Druzhkov.
