Today the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism hosted the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Correspondence Conference with International Participation "Foreign Language: Traditions, Experience and Innovations". More than 150 people from China, Belarus, Transnistria, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of 33 universities of Russia took part in the conference.
Within the framework of the conference, a face-to-face round table "Modern pedagogical technologies in the world of language" was held at the University of Sport.
The event was attended by representatives of different schools of Kazan, the college of Volga University, as well as the Department of Foreign Languages of Kazan Power Engineering University and North Kazakhstan State University.
Andrey Nazarenko, Vice-Rector for Research and International Activities, opened the round table. He noted that despite the fact that this is the first conference, a large number of applications were submitted for participation. He reminded that the Volga Region Scientific Centre of Physical Culture and Sport of the Russian Academy of Education, which conducts research in the field of pedagogy, psychology, age physiology of physical culture and sport, operates on the basis of the university.
Rezeda Khadiullina, Director of the International Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism of the university, also welcomed the conference participants.
"I think that holding the conference will become a good New Year tradition. Since the formation of language competence is the main tool for our students to have a high degree of employability and find their niche in the labour market.
Since 2017, our students have been studying core subjects in English. We believe that such immersion in the language environment, when a professional language vocabulary is formed and students can communicate freely in a foreign language, work with foreign guests within the framework of their activities, is simply necessary," Rezeda Khadiullina emphasised. According to her, one of the important goals of the round table is communication, interaction and friendship, which should bear fruit.
Zoya Pavitskaya, Head of the Department of Linguistics of the Volga Region University, in her turn, noted that pedagogy and language do not stand still, they develop: new programmes and technologies appear, and to keep up with the times, it is necessary to constantly improve one's professional competence, to develop, to improve oneself.
