The Volga Region University of Sport and Tourism opened its doors for future applicants last weekend. The Open Day was attended not only by representatives of the regions of the Republic of Tatarstan, but also of the Udmurt and Chuvash Republics, as well as Moscow, Vladimir, Chelyabinsk and Kirov regions.
On the eve of the meeting with the university administration, the guests were given a tour of the teaching and laboratory building, after which they were invited to the concert hall for a presentation of the university.
In her welcoming speech Adelia Pavlova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Digital Transformation, noted that the university honours the traditions that have been established since the founding of the university. She reminded the audience about the main slogan of the university "Learn to win!".
"Our slogan refers not only to sports, but to all spheres of university activity. We preserve the traditions that have been formed for almost half a century. At the same time we supplement them with modern technologies in education, sports and tourism. And today our students have many interesting opportunities for their future, - Adelia Pavlova emphasised. - We have students who already have high achievements in various spheres of activity, as well as those who are just starting their way. It is necessary to keep up with the times, so it is important for us to provide quality knowledge to both, so that they can have a successful career in the future".
Then the audience had a unique opportunity to watch a film about one of the university teachers, professor of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Tennis and Badminton, President of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpischev "The pinnacle of Captain Tarpischev's life".
At the end the main organisational aspects of admission to the university were recalled by Damir Islyamov, Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee of the Volga Region University. He noted that training is carried out on the programmes of college, bachelor's, master's, postgraduate, as well as - correspondence education.
"The start of admission documents will be given on 20 June, later there will be entrance tests on general and special physical training. This year we will know the exact number of budgetary places at the end of December and will immediately post information about it on the university website", - said Danir Islyamov.
In continuation of the Open Doors Day there was a meeting with representatives of institutes and departments, where future applicants and their parents could ask questions to teachers. After that, a tour of the Universiade Village residential campus was organised by the university students. The guests were shown and told about the living conditions, rules and duties of the residents, as well as about the student life in the dormitory.
And if anyone had any questions, they could ask them to representatives of the admission committee and university staff.
