The II All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation "State, problems and ways of improvement of sport and health training in water kinds of sport" took place in the Volga Region University. It was devoted to the 100th anniversary of the State authority in the sphere of physical culture and sport.

"As part of the conference, specialists in the field of aquatic sports met today at the Volga University to share knowledge and best practices in the training of the sports reserve, hydro-rehabilitation and Paralympic swimming, as well as to touch upon the topics of health-improving technologies, training of coaches and referees," said Rector Rafis Burganov.

More than 70 scientific works from 16 Russian cities were sent to the conference, foreign specialists from Turkmenistan, USA, Taiwan and Kazakhstan also took part.

"I am sure that the contribution of all participants of today's conference to the development of aquatic sports will be notable and significant, and our athletes will successfully use the fruits of your scientific research," said four-time Olympic champion, President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov with a welcoming speech.

More than fifty reports were presented at the plenary session and sections. Among the speakers were the representatives of the leading physical education and sport universities, representatives of aquatic sports federations, and distinguished and beginning coaches working with the national teams and children.

"Science has to serve practice, - said Alexander Petryaev, professor of Swimming Theory and Methods Department of P.F. Lesgaft University of Physical Culture, Sport and Health in his speech. - Modern sports went far beyond physical training and we need to improve allied disciplines".

Scientific sections worked in three separate areas: theory and methodology of competitive swimming, theory and methodology of water sports and fitness technology in water sports.

"This is the third time I have come to Volga Region University and I always notice how the university is growing in the professional field. It's always a pleasure to attend your events and conferences," commented Nellie Filippova, Vice President of the Russian Diving Federation. - That year I took part in the first conference, devoted to water sports. All speakers are traditionally highly qualified, their experience is very valuable. The title of today's conference denotes problems of water sports for discussion, but it seems to me that we have no problems, there are only small defects which need to be improved.
