Beginning on 17 April, the university will hold elections for student government bodies of the institutes, dormitories and the university as a whole. On the eve of this important event for student life, we learned about the views of the candidates running for office. In a mini-interview format, they answered questions, talked about their expectations and placed their bets.

"In my opinion, leadership is not about status, but about responsibility," Alexey Kulikov, a candidate for the position of the head of the student media centre, shared with us. - A supervisor is a support staff for talented and hardworking employees. I wish all candidates heed this position. I am sure that with these principles, you can build a job that will be of maximum benefit to you. You should always remember that you work for the people in the first place and for yourself in the second.

"For me personally, the election is a formality," said Lyasan Vafina, a candidate for student council chair at the Institute of Physical Education. - The first time I lost, I was re-elected after the previous creative manager left his post. If you want to work for the good of the university, the dormitory or your institute, nothing can stop you. Regardless of the outcome, you will remain on the like-minded team and continue to work on an equal footing with others."

"The elections are just days away, the tension is growing," said Eleonora Gontarenko, candidate for the position of creative manager of the student dormitory council. - I want to support all candidates, because elections are exciting and responsible moment. Everyone deserves to win, but only together we will be able to achieve great results and realise our goals. As the saying goes: Make way for the young!

"Elections themselves are a very interesting phenomenon: candidates find themselves in a highly competitive environment, which can help them discover a completely unknown side of themselves and others," said Sergei Mikheev, a candidate for two positions at once - Unifirst Headquarters Commander and commander of the second branch of Student Security. - New blood, fresh air and moving only upwards - that's what elections are for me.

“The school of activists has become for many candidates a catalyst for energy charged for success and victory, a thirst for activity and motivation,” shared Yasmina Nafikova, a candidate for the position of media manager of the student council of the hostel. “It’s important not to be upset about a possible defeat, because the best always comes when you don’t expect it.”

“I can say with confidence that there will be no winners and losers in this race,” commented Vladislav Bologov, a candidate for the post of chairman of the student council of the Institute of Physical Culture. - Only the vector of development will be determined, along which the locomotive of the student council will begin its movement. The responsibility for choosing this path rests with the voters.”

“The candidates represent different points of view and ideas, which can be very important for improving the conditions of learning and interaction of students at the university level,” said Aidar Khasanov, candidate for the position of Head of Partner Relations. “I believe that everyone should be active in the election process, as this is an opportunity to show their leadership qualities, gain valuable experience and improve the quality of education at the university.”

“Elections are an important part of student life. For some, this is the first and decisive step towards their future, for others - the continuation of their activities within the walls of the university, - said Polina Kuzmina, a candidate for the position of head of partnerships. - It is especially valuable to see first-year students at the elections who come with fresh ideas, a new vision of problems and ways to solve them. I worry about the election to the positions of my institute - management and tourism, the guys have a job that has never been particularly focused on - the position of the person responsible for internal communications. I really hope that the institution will rise, including by electing the right candidate for this particular position.”
