Nine out of forty students will be selected based on the results of qualifying competitions for the national team of Povolzhye University to participate in the All-Russian Festival of Physical Culture Students.
The selection for the university team was recently held at the Gymnastics Centre; the Universities Sports Festival will take place in late May in St. Petersburg, the northern capital of Russia.
The programme of qualifying competitions included four events: long jump from a place, bending and unbending arms lying on the floor for girls, pulling up from the high bar for boys and shooting air rifle with diopter aim.
It should be noted that all the above exercises are standards of the All-Russian complex "Ready for Labour and Defence".
Based on the results of the qualifying competitions, an expanded squad of the university will be formed for further preparation for the Festival.
