The penultimate home round of the Russian Premier League A championship was played last weekend by the volleyball team Academia-Kazan. Maksim Maksimov's charges hosted Magnitogorsk Magnitka at the Burevestnik Sports Complex. The outsider of the final group for places from the first to the eighth was very "tough nut" - the guests did not give to relax throughout both games.

In the first meeting Magnitka's play could be described by the word "almost". In each of three games volleyball players from Magnitogorsk almost won, but in the end the game was more reliable for "academicians" - 29:27, 25:20, 25:22.

The second game was no less tense, but this time the guests could win the second game and almost the third one. Meanwhile, "Academia-Kazan" also played all the other games in a stable manner and won the match again with the score 3:1 (25:22, 25:19, 24:26, 25:19).

"We made fewer mistakes both days, - admitted Maksim Maksimov, head coach of VK Academia-Kazan. - When it came to the end of the game, the opposing team gave us points on serve, attacks in touch, not scoring important goals. We played cleaner, calmer and more confident. The home crowd and the support of the fans paid off.
