Students of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism climbed onto the podium of the Kazan Aesthetic Gymnastics Championship. The tournament was held last weekend in the Boxing and Table Tennis Centre.
The team of the university won bronze medals. The line-up included Evelina Akhtyamova, Ekaterina Bazhenova, Elizaveta Bazhenova, Adelina Evdokimova, Kristina Egorova, Ksenia Klabukova, Elina Fazilzyanova and Elizaveta Shangina.
As noted by Sofia Nadezhina, the coach of the student team, the athletes coped with the task. "Aesthetic gymnastics is a team sport that requires from gymnasts equal opportunities, expressiveness, musicality and synchrony of performance, - summed up Sofia Nadezhina. - In the future, we plan to add more complex and interesting elements to the programme and continue our preparations for the next competition, which will be held in April in Ufa.
