The Yalta-Zai Sports Training Centre in Zainsk hosted the All-Russian Cross-Country Skiing Competition.
The unquestionable leaders of the first day in the classic race were the students of the Volga Region University of Sports - 551 points. Second on the day were athletes from Smolensk State University of Sports, and third was the team from Penza State University. And so it happened that from the first day and throughout the competition stage the three universities took the lead and fought for the title of the best.
On the second day the programme included a sprint freestyle race, here our students registered 385 points and took bronze. On the third and fourth competition days they raced in the relay and freestyle race, where they took the lead in the overall standings.
At the end of all competition days the university team took the title of vice-winners with 1668 points. The team of Penza State University took the lead with 1777. The honourable three were rounded out by the skiers of Smolensk State University of Sport with 1373.
