Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism hosted another home round of the Russian Railways Student Basketball League for women's teams. The games were held in the third round. The team of the university met the guests from Izhevsk and Perm.
On the first day University of Sports and Kupol-UdGU SSHOR-3 (Izhevsk) met on the floor. From the very beginning the Kazan team was unsuccessful, their opponents tried to take advantage of the situation but in vain. The women's national team managed to win the match - 79:73. Alina Sabirova became the leader of the game, having scored 19 points and two block-shots by the end of the match.
On the second day the Kazan players had to face one of the favourites of the group, Perm's PARMA-KOR. "We were set to not let the two leaders of PARMA-KOR possess the ball. But judging by the statistics, we can say that we failed to do that. I think that the defeat was a result of a great desire to win, we could not implement ourselves in attack and just did not score", - commented the game player of the "University of Sports" Anna Latoshenko. The meeting ended with a score of 88-65 in favor of the opponents.
