Rafis Burganov: "Interaction with the Russian Academy of Education gives us the opportunity to implement promising projects in the field of pedagogy and education"

Today in Moscow Rafis Burganov, the rector of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism told about the main directions of the work in 2023 and the development prospects of the Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Education, founded on the basis of the Volga Region University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism. The cooperation between the Scientific Council for Physical Culture and Sport of the Russian Academy of Education and the Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Education on the basis of Povolzhsky University was discussed at the meeting of the Scientific Council attended by the rector of the university.

In his speech, Rafis Burganov reminded that the Volga Region Scientific Centre for Physical Culture and Sport was founded on July 12, 2022 to carry out joint fundamental and research scientific researches in the fields of pedagogy, psychology, age-related physiology, physical culture and sport as well as innovative educational projects.

He told about large-scale events held on the basis of the university during this time.

Rafis Burganov also informed the faculty members about the Educational and Methodological Association for Physical Training and Sport Teachers of the Russian Ministry of Education. The association provides scientific and methodological support for the implementation of main general education programmes in accordance with the federal state educational standards for general education.

Of particular interest to the Scientific Council was the ecosystem of training scientific and pedagogical staff: college - undergraduate - graduate - postgraduate - dissertation council. A joint dissertation council for defending candidate and doctoral dissertations with Volgograd Academy of Physical Culture was created for 3 scientific specialties. It should be noted that the Dissertation Council of the University is currently the only one among sport and pedagogical universities to defend dissertations. The post-graduate department implements training programs in 4 scientific specialties.

"Volga Region University appreciates cooperation with the Russian Academy of Education. This gives us an opportunity to implement promising and important joint projects, scientific research in pedagogy and education," Rafis Burganov emphasized.

Among major activities of the Volga Region Physical Culture and Sports Research Center in 2023, the Rector mentioned the exchange of best practices in terms of student internships at sports schools and professional development and retraining courses for physical education teachers; interaction between the Volga Region University and secondary schools of Russia in reviewing physical education curricula in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standards; holding All-Russian academic conferences, round tables, seminars, etc.

Rafis Burganov also said that this year the All-Russian Spartakiade of School Sport Clubs for Physically Disabled Students and Children with Disabilities, the regional Philin Olympiad in Physical Culture and Sports, the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad on Physical Culture for schoolchildren, the professional mastery contest among physical culture teachers of educational schools, fundamental and applied research in the field of pedagogy, psychology, age physiology, physical education and science are planned to be held in Volga Region.
