Today, the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism hosted an award ceremony for the winners of the "Results of the Year-2021" award. The guests of the festive evening were the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism Sergey Ivanov, Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Tatarstan Stanislav Andreev and First Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan Rinat Sadykov.
The evening was opened by the Acting Rector of the Volga Region University Rafis Burganov:
- We have done a lot this year. We tried to experiment, to see what new forms and methods of work we can implement with you. Someone sees the assignment of university status to a university as just a change of signage. In fact, we are well aware that this is far from the case. We have done a lot with you in terms of optimizing our educational process. There are new directions, new competencies, new departments. And we have built a clear vector of development. A lot has been done in terms of science. Our scientific laboratory will start working just a few days ago. We have done a lot in terms of sports as well. We tried to develop student sports, realizing that the sport of the highest achievements, a task performed by our colleagues from the Ministry of Sports of the Republic of Tatarstan and Russia. This year we have held more than a hundred events with the participation of more than 22 thousand people at our venues. We held creative youth events with a coverage of 15 thousand people. And we try to make both the sports and creative life of students rich and interesting. And I think that each of you feels it for yourself. Both students and teachers, and those who create the appropriate conditions for this. I could talk a lot about what happened this year. And I think we will talk about this more on Monday at the labor conference, when we will choose the academic council and the rector of our university.
Rinat Sadykov, welcoming students, teachers and staff of the university, said:
- Students at the Volga Region University were incredibly lucky, because the university was headed by a man who has always and all his life not only worked with young people, but also always worried about the task that he was assigned. By the end of this year, I already see those serious initiatives and results in the implementation of the state youth policy at the university. And I am sure that big and bright victories are also waiting for you in 2022.
- In fact, being a student is a golden time, a wonderful age! Stanislav Andreev addressed the audience. - And you have a unique opportunity to study and play sports. Many of you will connect your whole life with sports, someone will go into science, someone will become a professional athlete. But the main thing is to carry the love of sports through your whole life, to charge everyone around with this feeling!
Vladimir Leonov in his address to the heroes of the year confessed:
- The university is a real home for us! We all appreciate him, we are proud of him, we try to support him as much as possible and move forward together. I will say this for the first time. We often say that this is one of the best sports universities in the country. But it's probably already possible to say that this is the best university in the world! The guests of honor took turns on the stage and presented gifts and diplomas to the winners in the nominations.
The leading specialist of the Department of Quality Management of Education Alsu Mukhambetalieva, senior laboratory assistant of the Department of Theory and Methodology of Martial Arts Anastasia Salimova, documentologist of the Department of Records Management of the Department of Organizational and Administrative Work Maria Orlova, engineer of the Automated control system of the educational and laboratory building Rifat Khadiullin, sports instructor of the training and sports complex Palace of Water Sports Albert Rakhimov, senior administrator of the training and sports complex indoor swimming pool "Burevestnik" Oksana Khaliullina were recognized as employees of the year, Ilfat Akhtyamov, Automated Control System Engineer of the Federal Sports and Training Center for Gymnastics, Lilia Gainullina, leading water treatment engineer of the Federal Sports and Training Center for Rowing Sports, Yulia Lazareva, Deputy Director for the Development of the Tennis Academy Training Center, and Ramil Shaimuradov, leading mechanical engineer of the Badminton Center training and Sports complex.
In the nomination Athlete of the Year-2021, the winners were wrestler Alexey Abramov and swimmer Maria Temnikova. The coach of the year in an individual sport was recognized by colleagues as the mentor of taekwondo students of the university Alexey Kaplev. Alexey Popov, who heads the University's handball team, became the coach of the year in the team sport. In the nomination Team of the Year in team sports, there was no equal to the football team of the university, which won the All-Russian competitions among universities. And the team of the year in individual sports were the student skiers - winners of the All-Russian competitions among students in cross-country skiing in the team competition.
The most discussed award in the student community is "Learn to win". How many copies are broken around which of the student government activists spent the year brighter than others. And finally, the veil fell: in the main student nomination – the Grand Prix - the winner was a graduate student of the university, an employee of the sports work department Rinas Shiriev!
