As part of the closing ceremony of the Year of Native Languages and National Unity, students and teachers of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism visited the village of Bilyarsk, Alekseevsky district of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Despite the fact that the village is small, there was something to see and it is not difficult to understand how rich the history of Tatarstan is.
The delegation of the Volga Region University began the campaign with the House-Museum of the dynasty of the famous chemists A.E. Arbuzov and A.M. Butlerov – this is, in fact, a monument to the dedication of scientists who left a huge mark in the history of Russia.
Then we visited the Bilyar Archaeological Museum, located in a 2-storey building of the late nineteenth century. The museum exposition was particularly striking, where archaeological materials from the excavations of the Bilyar archaeological expedition and objects of a historical and everyday nature were presented.
At the end of the tour, we visited the Holy Key and climbed the mountain by a ladder of 440 steps, which is also called Maiden and Huzhalar-Tau, being away from the village. This is a very nice and cozy place where, surrounded by pine and maple trees, you can enjoy the silence and make a wish in the fabulous aura of the winter forest.
After the sights of Bilyarsk were inspected, the University teachers went to the local school, where they met with the students of the graduating grades 9, 10 and 11 and told them about the university. So, it is possible that a trip to this amazing place not only replenished the students' knowledge about the history of Tatarstan, but also became decisive in choosing a life path for some of the young residents of the village.
