A live broadcast for applicants and students of the Volga Region University of Sports was held on Tuesday by Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Albina Khairullina, who headed the Department of Economics and Management in Sports, which was formed on the basis of the Department of Sports Management. During the conversation, Albina Javdatovna told about the reasons and the process of transformation of the department, new and old directions of training and about the career prospects of those who are receiving or are going to receive an education at the department.
Albina Khairullina said that the Volga Region University will continue to train specialists in the direction of "sports management "(49.03.01), but at the same time, from the new academic year, it will begin training in the bachelor's degree in the direction of" management in the sports industry "(38.03.02) and will open a new master's program"management of sports and social projects". The differences between these two directions, with a seemingly similar name, are significant. Starting with the entrance exams.
Applicants intending to enroll in these two areas take completely different exams. Russian Russian language, biology and general physical training are used in the first case, and Russian language, social studies and mathematics are used in the second case.
- In the first direction, the university has been training specialists in the field of physical culture for a very long time, - Albina Javdatovna explained. - Here we have a well-formed department with a strong teaching staff. The educational program includes subjects related to human physiology. Students will study biomechanics, sports psychology, theory and methodology of teaching basic sports… As for the second direction, the emphasis is placed differently here. The subjects are more concerned with managerial aspects, everything related to the theoretical foundations of management: business thinking, economic theory… The main focus is on the economic justification of managerial decision-making. The task of the department is to train specialists who, knowing the subject of research – the sports industry - will make the right decisions taking into account the economic background, will manage sports facilities, projects and events from a business point of view.
