Today, three graduates of the Volga Region University of Sports and Tourism celebrated their successful performances as part of the Russian national team in badminton, volleyball and swimming competitions in Olympic Tokyo.
Badminton player Sergey Sirant in the first match of the group stage of the 2020 Olympics beat Hungarian Gergei Crouch with a score 2:0 (21:18, 21:18). Tomorrow, Sirant will play the second match of Group J (starting at 12.00 Moscow time) with Indonesian Anthony Ginting. The winner will advance to the 1/8 finals of the tournament.
The Russian women's national volleyball team, which started with a defeat from the Italians, won the first victory at the tournament: over the Argentine team with a score of 3-0 (25:19, 25:15, 25:13). As part of our team, Irina Voronkova, a certified bachelor and master of the University, became the third in terms of performance with 11 points. Well, swimmer Alexander Krasnykh, as part of the Russian team, together with Mikhail Dovgalyuk, Ivan Girev and Mikhail Vekovishchev, reached the final of the 2020 Olympics in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay,showing the fourth time (7.05, 16).
The final swim in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay will be held tomorrow, July 28. The beginning is at 6: 25 (Moscow time)
