The results of the X Sports Contest among students and national teams of three faculties were summed up at the Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism. The competition was attended by more than 2.5 thousand students-both professional athletes and sports enthusiasts. Students competed in sports all-around, cross-country skiing, gymnastics and swimming, ran track and field cross-country, played chess, volleyball, basketball, mini-football and table tennis.
Despite the difficult and unusual conditions of the pandemic, sports events were held, the participants competed in comfortable conditions and showed decent results.
The team places at the Faculty of Service were distributed between the areas of training tourism, service and hotel business, respectively, from the first to the third place. At the Faculty of Physical Culture this year, the team of physical education was in the lead, the second was the students of the direction of training adaptive physical culture, sports managers closed the top three. At the Faculty of Sports, the "aksakals" traditionally became the best. The 2nd and 3rd places went to representatives of the same department-volleyball and basketball, respectively. The leadership in the 2020/2021 season remained with the wrestling specialization and the Department of Theory and Methodology of Martial Arts, which for the past six years has won the leader's cup of these intramural competitions. According to the head of the department, Professor Yuri Boltikov, wrestlers participate in all types of programs and most of them are in prizes.
"Students and teachers of our department are very serious about the internal sports Contest, they are easy - going and always show by personal example how to fight," comments Yuri Vasilyevich. – We specifically set up first-year students, who bear the main burden. Competitions always keep us in good shape and add emotions. Our fans know what, for example, only one volleyball match of wrestlers with students from a profile specialization cost. We, of course, lost it, but very well! We have a number of proposals for optimizing the number of sports of the Sports Contest, distributing them by faculty and participating in competitions not by their own type. I think this will add excitement to the Sports Contest program and it will become more attractive for most students."
Farit Akhmadullin, head of the Sports Department of the university, believes that the results of the Sports Contest speak for themselves.
"The teams that managed to unite and reach mutual understanding managed to win," comments Farit Abdulkhayevich, " But the main idea of the intra-university Sports Contest remains the mass involvement of students in sports competitions, the consolidation of faculties. I have no doubt that the sporting spirit has touched every participant of these competitions. Next year, we will do everything possible to try our hand at the competitive program of the Spartakiad for everyone."
At the solemn summing up of the season, the heroes and awards of the intra-university stage of the I Festival of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex "Ready for Work and Defense", held in May, found their heroes. In the team competition, the best among the girls were students studying in the profile of physical education, skiers and track and field athletes made them worthy competition in the top three. Among young men, on the contrary, there were no equals to skiers, future physical education teachers were second, wrestlers closed the top three leaders. In the individual competition for girls, representatives of the Faculty of Physical Culture Zarina Yarayeva and Liana Sultanova showed, respectively, the first and third results. The second position was defended in a hard fight by Vladlena Monova, a future swimming coach. Among the young men, the best result was shown by the skier Rasim Nigmatullin, the second was the representative of the Faculty of Physical Culture Ayaz Arstambekov, the third place was taken by the volleyball player Ivan Zamyatin.
A total of 179 participants of the festival met the standards of the TRP during the intramural stage. 19 students made it to the golden badge of distinction, including Ilvina Sharapova and Daria Volkova, who were able to receive them at the event.
According to the head of the Interuniversity Testing Center of the TRP complex, Alexander Mironov, those students who did not have enough test results in one or more types of tests to meet the standard will be able to "retake"them.
