Daria Akhmerova, a student of the Volga Region University of Sports, won the Russian Weightlifting Championship held in Khanty-Mansiysk.
Performing in the weight category up to 87 kilograms, Daria in total in the snatch and clean and jerk gained 245 kilograms (105+140). Her closest competitor, Daria Ryazanova, a student of the Faculty of distance learning Akhmerova, was ahead by 18 kilograms (219; 97+122). As a result, the university student has three gold medals and two Russian records (for athletes under 23 and for adults). Daria improved on the previous achievement by "pushing" a bar weighing 140 kg.
Recall that in April at the European Weightlifting Championships in Moscow, Daria Akhmerova won a gold medal, which became the only award of the highest dignity for the Russian national team at this tournament. And she got a ticket to the European Championship as the winner of the February Cup of Russia.
Daria, a native of Kazakhstan. In 2019, she became the world junior champion in the capital of Fiji, Suva. She recently received Russian citizenship, and represents Tatarstan in the domestic arena. He trains in Kazan under the guidance of his uncle, Anvar Akhmerov. Anvar Ravilevich was recognized as the best coach of the country at the end of the tournament.
