Daria Akhmerova, a student of the Volga Region University of Sports, won the Russian Weightlifting Championship held in Khanty-Mansiysk.
Performing in the weight category up to 87 kilograms, Daria in total in the snatch and clean and jerk gained 245 kilograms (105+140). Her closest competitor, Daria Ryazanova, a student of the Faculty of distance learning Akhmerova, was ahead by 18 kilograms (219; 97+122). Daria, a native of Kazakhstan. In 2019, she became the world junior champion in the capital of Fiji, Suva. She recently received Russian citizenship, and represents Tatarstan in the domestic arena.
