Students of the Volga State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism won two medals in the first two days of the competition at the Russian Swimming Championship held in Kazan, at the Palace of Water Sports.

Grigory Tarasevich became the second in the final in the 50-meter backstroke (24.66), losing to Kliment Kolesnikov (24.08). Today Tarasevich swims in the final in the 100-meter backstroke. Unlike the 50-meter race, this distance is included in the program of the Olympic Games.

Well, a fourth-year student of the university, Anna Egorova, won a gold medal, set a new Russian record (4:04.10) and fulfilled the Olympic standard in the 400-meter freestyle.
