The Volga region Academy of sports has become a participant in a large-scale project to create a single space for placing educational and scientific materials. Branch network electronic libraries United in a consortium on the basis of one of the largest electronic library systems of educational literature and scientific periodicals ESB "LAN". Universities participating in the consortium have free access to educational publications in all areas of knowledge.
Recall that in February, the project "Network electronic library of universities of physical education and sports" was launched, the operator of which is also EBS "LAN". The key objective of the project is to provide open access to educational materials for partner universities. On the created platform, project participants were able to freely exchange educational content.
"By participating in the project, we have significantly increased our own library and information resources, thereby expanding our educational opportunities and optimizing the learning process," says Yulia Zubkova, head of the Academy's library. - The creation of such a platform is a vivid example of the development of online forms of education in accordance with global trends in the digitalization of the educational process. The Volga region Academy is an advanced University in terms of implementing digital technologies in the learning process. it is no accident that we were the first to confirm our participation in the project. For us, providing open access to our educational and scientific materials is a chance to make an additional contribution to the development of higher education.
Meanwhile, in October, it became known about the creation of a consortium of online electronic libraries, which will combine the funds of all industry SEBS, not just sports.
- As part of the consortium of online electronic libraries, the Volga Academy has access to 25,000 titles of educational and scientific literature from more than 200 universities for teachers and students in all fields of knowledge, - says Yulia Zubkova. - Participants of the consortium place scientific and educational content published by the University for mutual use. This literature — books, textbooks, manuals-can be a great help for participants in the educational process: students and teachers of the Volga state Academy of physical culture, sports and tourism.
