Tatarstan athletes won two medals at the Russian women's freestyle wrestling championship held in Kazan. Svetlana Lipatova, a graduate of the Volga region Academy of sports, won silver in the weight category up to 59 kilograms. In the final, Svetlana lost to the 2016 Olympic silver medalist Valeria Koblova.
 The "bronze" award went to Alexandra Utekhina, a third-year student of the faculty of sports, who performs in the weight category up to 76 kilograms.
