At the start of the academic year, the Department of theory and methods of gymnastics held curatorial hours for its first-year students in collaboration with a specialist in youth work, a certified psychologist and conflict analyst Yulia Tokranova. They talked about ways to involve young people in terrorist and extremist activities. The level of aggression in society and in the Network, where modern students spend almost all their free time, is growing, but this does not add to the safety of young people.
Young people, according to experts, can only be saved from dubious personalities and potential recruitment to various communities that skillfully hide their extremist essence by the ability to correctly filter the information they receive.
Based on the studies the main scientific worker of VNII MVD of Russia, Vice-President of Russian criminological Association, doctor of philosophical Sciences, Professor Igor Sundiev, Julia Tokranova showed those present at the meeting the freshmen how they can become an "easy target" for recruitment. Everything happens without contacts and outwardly completely spontaneously, without any structure. People just look at beautiful images that are popular with a certain group of users. Clip thinking of modern youth allows you to skillfully manipulate the ways of perception of the world around you. To analyze the information received, you need to be able to build a complete picture of what is happening from an incoherent set of facts and images, and form your own opinion about it.
"This becomes an extremely difficult and sometimes impossible task for many young people," says Yulia Tokranova. – The most important thing in this huge information flow is to be able to maintain psychological balance and remain neutral and objective in relation to various negative, but fashionable trends that are actively promoted to the youth audience."
The meeting ended with the words: do not think that this does not concern you!
